I could not believe I’ve never been to this place. I passed it for years going to Nazs halal next door and had no idea what I was missing ! This is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to , Chinese or not , hands down, point blank. First of all , my mom is in poor health, and it took her ALL DAY to get ready to go out for Christmas dinner. We showed up at 843 when they close at 10, and I was sooo thankful they took us in ! From the start of us entering , everyone was sooo nice and friendly. We were sat immediately even though they were still slightly busy. The menus were like the nicest coffee table book I’ve ever put my hands on. I was impressed just from that. Nice BIG sturdy carved wooden tables, sturdy chairs , cushions left something to be desired but can overlook that. Real flowers on the table. They do “team style service “ so not one singular server takes care of you , it’s the whole staff. Which I loved. We had about 6 servers but they were all great. Good came out fast , as in freakishly fast. The tea was on the table in SECONDS. The soup dumplings 1 minute. Literally one minute from when we ordered them. Steaming hot and fresh. The vinegar dipping sauce with them was amazing. They did run out of Lo mein and walnut shrimp but again that’s our fault for coming so late on Christmas and I saw that as a good sign ! It’s ALWAYS a good sign when a restaurant runs out of something. That’s the entire point really. No one should have leftovers. So even though I was sad I didn’t get to try the walnut shrimp , it’s an excuse to go back another time. I got the Peking duck and was INSANELY impressed with presentation and taste. Best I’ve ever had. The orange chicken was above average , the tea outstanding. And the Chinese china a very nice touch. They even were friendly on the way out when we were the last ones there ! Willy one of our servers was especially helpful. Thanks Willy and staff ! We will definitely be retuning !!!
We had a great dinner here on a Friday night! We came at around 6pm and got seated right away. My favorites were the chili oil wontons 红油抄手 and eggplant garlic stir fry. The beef dry hot pot and the peppercorn fish had too much of a strong peppercorn oil flavor. I will definitely be back to try other dishes though! The decor is beautiful and service is great.
I've been meaning to try Tea Horse for ages and oh my god I'm so glad I finally did. I got the dandan noodles and scallion pancakes and both were incredible, with very generous portion sizes too. The selection of teas - particularly the chrysanthemum, were also of extremely high quality. Don't miss this place if you're looking for top tier Sichuan food.
I had the chance to dine at Tea Horse, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is surprisingly spacious compared to how it looks from the outside, with a nice balance of fancy yet casual vibes. The staff were friendly and offered great suggestions based on our preferences. Now, let’s talk about the food, absolutely amazing! Every dish was bursting with taste. The portions were generous (we even had to take some home), and it reheated well without losing any of its rich flavors. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I look forward to returning.
What a gem! From the outside it looks like it could be any other Chinese restaurant, but it's truly unique. It's a spacious, clean, classy restaurant with a very welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. The service takes second to none, very friendly staff, attentive and quick. The food came out in the blink of an eye and it was bursting with heat and flavor. The menu has a fantastic variety of traditional Sichuan dishes, the portions are very generous and the food is utterly delicious. Already planning a second visit.
One of the best sichuan meals (5 different dishes) we have had in years. As fine as NYC and SF Chinatown places. Service and ambience excellent.
We visited the Tea Horse Sochuan Bistro for a dinner date with friends. We had a reservation so we did not need to wait for our table. The restaurant has a bar and some specialty cocktails that were very tasty! On to the food, everything we ordered was exceptional. We had the cabbage and green beans as some side options, both were packed with flavor and the spice gave it a perfect kick. Since this was our first time visiting this restaurant, we tried numerous entrees. Most of these are family style dishes so its easy to share at the table. The duck, clams, tofu, chicken fried rice, lo mein, and pork belly.....EXCELLENT! I will definitely return and bring a friend to share in this flavorful experience. The food is reasonably priced for the amount you get. The restaurant staff weee very friendly and attentive to our needs and requests.
I love this place so much! Me and my mom come here quite often, and always try something new because it's all delicious. The employees are all so welcoming and kind. Even if we come when it's busy, we get seated quickly and taken care of. The employees also put the World Series game on the big screen when we asked . Our absolute favourite dishes are the green beans with pork, the cold chicken in chili sauce, and the mapo tofu ... and always a pot of white tea! The dishes are always big, though, so come prepared to share or take home leftovers. Also there's a cash discount!
